I happen to know one of these "converts" and let me tell you she finds fault in all of Islam but doesnt directly state that. She says she doesnt have to wear hijab because it is an old practice, and she wouldnt be able to get a job otherwise.Excuses.. Excuses.. i wont mention what else she says because its pointless poison
Anyways .. i have found many women (mostly american) that convert either after marriage, or because they made zeina with the man and want to keep him.. they may learn a little arabic to "keep face" and have very little desire to know anything about the religion. OR they try and mix the basic beliefs of Islam with what they actually want to do in their life. (no hijab, dressing how they want, talking how they want) and sometimes you find the "good ones" those who wear hijab, and modest clothing.. who know nothing about prayer and what is halaal and haram and doesnt care and it is very obvious that she doesnt really care.. i am not judging anyone here but in my opinion i dont think there is a difference between those that are cultural moslems or those that convert to put on a front..
These are the limits (set by) Allah and whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ) will be admitted to Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise), to abide therein, and that will be the great success. And whosoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and transgresses His limits, He will cast him into the Fire, to abide therein; and he shall have a disgraceful torment. 4:13-14
Allah says: "And when you speak, then be just, though it be (against) a relative." [Sûrah al-An`âm: 152]
He also says: "O you who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of any people make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do. " [Sûrah al-Mâ'idah: 8]
So it is fair to hate the deeds of others that have gone astray and try and guide them back.. but no to hate the person..
i have said in a previous post that i am a struggling smoker.. i dont think i am better than anyone.. i am the best moslem i can be and Inshallah i will be able to give up smoking for good i know people look down on me because of it.. but i refuse to be fake.. im not going to write posts about fatwas and such and such thing is haram and i myself have a defect in my Iman.. i just also thought it would help any sister to help share (if she struggles with the same) i know its not fair that others will judge me because i am a smoker. okay so i want to adress something else
and im not justifying anything by saying this. but how many moslem men do know that smoke? Me? Well all of my husbands frineds smoke either shisha, cigerettes or both.. and i dont think its fair that "by culture" it is acceptable to see a moslem man smoke or hear about it.. but Allah forbid if you hear about a woman doing the same.. for this reason just because i outed myself doesnt mean i go around prancing in hijab and modest clothes with cigerette in hand.. i dont smoke everyday and when i do smoke i smoke outside with my hubby where no one will see me.. ( i know Allah can see me) but Allah can forgive Inshallah.. but however maybe someone who sees me smoking may brand me forever as some very bad person.. and call me names.. and besides i am representing Islam.. i dont want to make it look bad by walking around with cigerette in hand.. and again I KNOW its haram..
so yeah i guess i went on rambling again but i just had to get that stuff off of my chest .. sometimes i want to post and then i think.. its not worth posting.. but who knows maybe i'll actually reach someone out there in bloggerland..
do any of you have stories about american conk-verts (i did that on purpose) or any other double standard issue.. anyone??
